Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Chocolate Covered Pretzels

If you're a fan of sweet and salty foods, you will absolutely LOVE these Chocolate Covered Pretzels. They are easy to make and you will only need 3 ingredients.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

I'm such a sucker for salty-sweet foods, but it wasn't always like that. Now when I'm in front of an ice cream selection, I always go for salted caramel or salted chocolate or salted peanut, or whatever they have in a salty version.

I love pretzels and I love chocolate, so I combined them and made chocolate-covered pretzels. You only need 3 ingredients and 10 minutes to make this tasty treat.

I keep them in the fridge to prevent the chocolate from melting and also I keep all my chocolate in the fridge because I like it way more when it's cold.

How to make Chocolate Covered Pretzels

As always you will find the whole recipe with measurements in the recipe box below but I want to give you an overview of the ingredients and the process with step-by-step photos first.

The ingredients

  • chocolate: I use 45% vegan baking chocolate. You can use dairy-free chocolate chips, dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, white chocolate, or whatever floats your boat.
  • coconut oil: optional; add it to your chocolate if it needs to be a bit thinner to easily use it to coat the pretzels
  • baby pretzels (store-bought)

Optionally, you can also add flaked salt, sesame seeds, or crushed nuts on top.

The basic steps

melting chocolate in a double boiler
Step 1: Melt chocolate in a double boiler (or microwave). You can add a bit of coconut oil to thin it out.

Step 2: Dip baby pretzels into the chocolate.

Step 3: Then lay them flat onto parchment paper, preferably with some kind of baking tray or something underneath, so you can easily transport them. Then place them into the fridge to cool off for at least 10 mins.

As soon as the chocolate has set, they are ready to eat. Keep them in a container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
