[Product Review] Lovechock

Lovechock

Disclaimer: I was provided with the raw & vegan chocolate bars by Lovechock (Thank you!) to review. All opinions are my own.

I was so excited to try Lovechock‘s Organic Raw Chocolates. I’ve seen them in organic supermarkets quite a few times and they really catched my eye because of the pretty, minimalistic packaging! Vegan Chocolates are not only great for vegans, but also for people with lactose intolerance, as they contain no dairy!

All chocolates by Lovechock are raw, organic, vegan, dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free. But what is so special about Lovechock is that the raw cacao beans are cold ground (instead of roasted in usual chocolates) and therefore the antioxidants (flavanoids) and “love chemicals” (such as tryptophan, anandamide and phenethylamine) are still in the chocolate.

Lovechock
Lovechock also makes sure to use only the best organic ingredients for their chocolates. They use cacao that has not been sprayed with pesticides and buy it from suppliers that work directly with small farmers.

Lovechock

All flavours

  • Pure/Nibs
  • Almond/Fig
  • Goji/Orange
  • Pineapple/Incaberry
  • Mulberry/Vanilla
  • Cherry/Chili
  • Pecan/Maca

I really liked the size of the chocolate bars! They are perfect to share with a loved one (or to devour alone).

Lovechock can be bought in stores with organic products in Europe.

LovechockNot only is the package (in my opinion) super pretty but the foil – that looks exactly like plastic – is also compostable! Awesome!

Lovechock

Pineapple/Incaberry

Lovechock

Ingredients: cacao mass, cacao butter, dried pineapple (20%),  dried coconut blossom nectar, dried physalis berries (5%), dried mango, lucuma powder, bourbon vanilla, sea salt. Chocolate part contains: minimum 81% cacao solids.

This one was a fruity one! It contained dried pineapple chunks and inca berry (which I learned is the same as physalis). All the Lovechock bars are sweetened with dried coconut blossom nectar. The natural sugar has a low GI value (glycemic index).

Mulberry/Vanilla

Lovechock

Ingredients: cacao mass, cacao butter, dried mulberries (20%),  dried coconut blossom nectar, dried quinoa, lucuma powder, bourbon vanilla (1%), cayenne pepper, sea salt. Chocolate part contains: minimum 81% cacao solids.

I’ve never had mulberry before I liked in this chocolate. It only had a slight flavor of vanilla and also contained dried quinoa and lucuma powder. Energy-boosting!

Almond/Fig

Lovechock

Ingredients: cacao mass, cacao butter, dried coconut blossom nectar, dried figs (12%), almonds (11%), raisins, lucuma powder, maca powder, aniseed, bourbon vanilla, cinnamon powder, sea salt. Chocolate part contains: minimum 80% cacao solids.

This one was the sweetest choco bar of the ones I’ve tried because of the dried figs. It also had crunchy almond pieces, lucuma and maca powder!

Pure/Nibs

Lovechock

Ingredients: cacao mass, cacao butter, dried coconut blossom nectar, cacao nibs (10%), lucuma powder, bourbon vanilla, sea salt. Chocolate part contains: minimum 81% cacao solids.

The pure one with cacao nibs was my favorite. I love dark chocolate and I love it puristic. So this one was practically made for me!

Raw chocolate melts less than traditional chocolate and it’s “less silky”. However I really enjoyed all the Lovechock bars, as they taste delicious, are energy-boosting and are made of few but high-quality ingredients (I love it when the ingredients list are neat and I can actually decipher what’s in there!)

Have you seen Lovechock in the stores? Did you try them? Ever tried other vegan & raw chocolates? I’d love to know in the comments!

Lovechock are AWESOME. Yes, capital letters-awesome! They are so good, especially cherry-chili and pecan-maca flavours. I must always restrict myself whenever I stand in line at one of the vegan stores in Vienna so as not to over-buy :D

(Gotta love those #firstworldproblems)

I'm so glad I haven't had a chance to go the vegan stores in Vienna yet because I think I'd spend way too much money there. ^.^ I already buy too much when I order vegan products online and in the stores it's even harder to resist. Thanks you for the tips - I'll have to try the other 2 flavors too because they sound super delicious!

You're absolutely right, Rebecca! I love the current direction of some companies that there are designing their products to be (main) allergy-free.

Now I want to try ALL the flavors!!! I'm not sure if they are supposed to look kinda like a tree, but that's totally what the shape and texture reminds me of :D haha And the packaging is so gorgeous, I didn't know it was foil or recyclable! So cool, eco-friendliness makes me very happy! I love all the fun fruity flavors, pineapple inca berry sounds really intriguing. But I'm the same way, the chocolate bars I always come back to are the simple pure chocolate ones.

aaah Natalie, you just made me double check but yes.. I can see the tree now too ^.^ I love it when the packaging is compostable too because there already too much plastic waste in the world...so I'm happy about every change we'll be making. Did you know inca berry is physalis? I was so surprised when I found out :D It was so much fun seeing you try the mulberry one in your snack swap video! It was so flat! Crazy :)
