4 Vegan Avocado Toast Ideas

Seriously, how amazing is avocado toast?! Don’t get me wrong, I love a simple mashed-avocado-lime juice-salt-combo but sometimes I like to change things up. That’s why I thought it would be a fun idea to share my favorite Avocado Toast toppings in this blog post.

How to pick ripe avocados: The trick is to try to remove the stem. It should come off easily. If it is green beneath, it is a good sign the avocado is ripe. If it is brown underneath, the avocado is overripe and will have brown spots inside. If the stem does not come off, the avocado is not yet ripe.

In this post, I’m showing you 4 of my favorite Avocado Toast Ideas. I hope you will give them a try sometime when you’re feeling fancy!

But let’s start at the beginning: The basic Avocado Toast!

4 Ways to Spruce up Your Avocado Toast

4 Vegan Avocado Toast Ideas

Avocado Toast with Tomato and Basil

Avocado Toast with tomato and basil

Tomato and basil is a classic combination that also works well on avocado toast! For the most flavorful Tomato and Basil Avocado Toast, I’m using cherry tomatoes (when in season) and fresh basil.

Avocado Toast with Za’atar

Avocado Toast with Za'atar

Za’atar is a traditional herb and spice blend of the Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. It’s a mix of dried sumac berries, marjoram, thyme, basil, oregano, white sesame seeds and Himalayan pink salt. There are a few different za’atar spice mixes out there, but basically, these are the usual ingredients. You can find Za’atar in most supermarkets in the spice section or order it online.

Avocado Toast with Everything Bagel Seasoning

Everything Bagel Seasoning is not just great for bagels. It’s the perfect addition to your Avocado Toast! I’ve made my own Everything Bagel Seasoning Mix by combining poppy seeds, black and white sesame seeds, and pretzel salt.

Avocado Toast with Capers and Dill

I’m crazy about the capers and dill combo lately. These two ingredients in combination with the lime juice adds a refreshing ocean-y vibe!
