How to cook Kalettes / Flower Sprouts / Kale Sprouts

Kalettes are a relatively new hybrid vegetable between kale and Brussels sprouts. They are quick and easy to prepare and so delicious!

  • 3 cups kalettes
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon plant-based oil e.g. canola oil, sunflower oil, peanut oil


  • First, wash the kalettes.
  • Now add them to a pan, add a bit of water so that the pan is partially covered. Let them cook on medium to high heat with a lid on the pan for 3-4 minutes.
  • Once they start to change in color and get soft, remove the lid and cook them further until the water has evaporated.
  • Now add a splash of oil and soy sauce, and cook them on high heat for another minute. And done!
