Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup boiling hot water

Instructions

  • Add the sugar into a pot and bring it to high heat. Keep stirring while the sugar melts and caramelizes. Once all the clumps are gone, remove the pot from the heat.
  • Add the salt.
  • Then carefully add boiling hot water. It sizzles a lot, so do it slowly.
  • Give it stir. If you still have sugar clumps, bring it back to heat. Otherwise, you're good to fill it into glass bottles. But be very careful because it's very, very hot.
  • Then you can store it in the fridge and use it in your coffee, chai, matcha, etc!
