It’s time to bring your hummus game to the next level by adding caramelized onions! Serve it with homemade crackers, veggie sticks, or flatbread and you will be in snack heaven!
Cook sliced onions in a pan over medium to high heat with oil and salt until they’re caramelized. Stir every now and then to keep them from getting too dark.
Add the chickpeas, caramelized onions (not all; save about 2 tablespoons of caramelized onions to add on top later), tahini, lemon juice, salt, and water into a blender.
Blend until smooth (add more water if the consistency is too thick).
Spread the hummus onto a plate, drizzle it with olive oil, add the rest of the caramelized onions, and sprinkle it with fresh parsley.
